TeamMONASH's AUG has officially started!

TeamMONASH's 2015 Sport Managers

TeamMONASH started this years Australian University Games at the annual welcome function and opening ceremony held on the 27th of September at Melbas in the Gold Coast.

All of the TeamMONASH athletes and staff wore their Monash blue uniforms and gathered together to celebrate the opening of the AUGs.

With over 750 students and support staff representing Monash at the tournament, this year is already our biggest yet.

Speeches during the night from TeamMONASH Director, Martin Doulton, and our 2015 AUG Team Captains Craig Dent and Amanda Fung helped inspire the over 750 strong team.

"Over the next five days of competition our efforts will showcase the talents of our champion team. I have been privileged to have seen first hand the immense efforts put in to making this the most professional, most prepared and most spirited Monash University team ever. Monash is the biggest sporting university in Australia," Martin said, "...after nearly 12 months of planning, recruiting, organising and training, this is it!"

Craig and Amanda together spoke about how proud everyone is to represent Monash University, and how important it is for our whole team to continue to support each other both on and off the field.


After tying with Melbourne University for second place at last years AUG with 7 Gold medals overall, this years team is more eager than ever to go one better.
