So
after nearly 12 months of planning, recruiting, organising and building this is
it!
2015
will go down in the history books as being the year that the largest team
in our University's 57 year history represented the blue of Monash on
the Varsity field.
Over
800 student athletes, coaches and support crew across 37 sports will be donning
their uniforms in the pursuit of taking out the title of Australia's
University Sporting Champion at the 2015 Australian University games (on the
Gold Coast) and the Australian University Championship for Rowing being
held in Adelaide.
As
Director of Team MONASH I have been privileged to have seen first hand the immense efforts put in to make this the most professional, most prepared and
most spirited Monash University team ever. Yes Monash is the biggest University
in Australia but it takes a certain spirit, pride, passion as well as a whole
lot of effort and experience to assemble a team of this size, quality and
magnitude.
Over
the next five days of competition through social media and the like our deeds
will be relayed to the whole University community. While we will have some
tough competition from our traditional rivals of Sydney and Melbourne over the
week I am confident that as we unleash the #monashunibluetsunami our
efforts will showcase the talents of our Champion team. We are here
representing Australia's #1 University and are hoping to get the results our
efforts so richly deserve!
