Respect. Now. Always. socks on display at Nationals
Today our athletes will be wearing green ‘Respect. Now.
Always.’ socks in support of Universities Australia’s endeavour to end sexual assault
and harassment on university campuses.
The initiative provides universities with support in
developing training resources, specialist counsellors, guidelines for responding
to sexual assault and respectful relationships education.
It’s a very influential program that has gone a long way to
ensuring universities are safe and inclusive environments where people can be
free from sexual harassment.
It’s terrific to see Monash and all of its athletes
supporting the Respect. Now. Always. initiative as it makes an important public
statement.

Team Monash Director Martin Dalton said it’s essential to
recognise the program and all it is doing to make universities safer.
“It’s a very important part of the universities activities
with regard to ensuring that we provide an inclusive and respectful community,”
Dalton said.
“Monash University takes pride in recognising the ‘Respect.
Now. Always.’ program and we are really pleased that the university teams get
on-board to demonstrate that publicly.”
Good luck to all our athletes today, wear your socks with
pride and help support Universities Australia in making universities across the
country safer and more respectful places to study and learn.
