Our Judo squad is off to Queensland to compete in this years Unisport Division (Div) 1 Nationals.
TeamMONASH checked in with the squad ahead of the event and here's what it had to say:
How is the team looking this year?
"Our team is looking good, with some previous Div 1 medallist's, as-well as some new additions.

What is the goal of your team at this year's Nationals?
"The goal this year is to bring home gold! We have come close in the past, winning 3 silver medals in the last 2 games

Who are the teams to beat in the competition?
"Every year it's different with athletes coming and going, but UTS, UNSW and UQ have very strong judo clubs, so we'll be looking out for them.

Who should we look out for on your team? Any Div 1
debutants or veterans?
"Our veterans include Andrew Nguyen (Silver Medal in 2017) and Kenji Macfarlane (Silver 2018). Xavier Barker is also a hot prospect with lots of coaching experience. Joseph Earshaw is a newcomer to Div 1, so it'll be exciting to see what he comes up with!"
