TeamMONASH Rev Up for AUG

The team is off to the fantastic start of the Australian University Games (AUG). The games kicked off with the annual welcome function and the opening ceremony held on 28th of September at Pacha Ivy, Sydney. 

The event set the stage for a fit, fun and challenging upcoming week. All the TeamMONASH athletes and staff wore blue TeamMONASH uniforms and gathered together in the venue to celebrate the opening of AUG.  

Director of TeamMONASH, Martin Doulton, gave an inspiring speech to get athletes pumped for following week.

"I am proud and excited to see how strong our team spirit is," Martin said, ".... I am looking forward to all of the medals and silver wear Monash will be bringing home."

Team Captains, Andrew Sanders and Lucy Dawson, recalled the excellent results of 2013 and encouraged TeamMONASH to do even better and bring home the gold in 2014.

"Remember that this TeamMONASH team will never be the same again, so enjoy every minute of it," Andrew said, "... don't forget to look out for fellow TeamMONASH teams and cheer them on."

The event finished off a chant sang by the team captains to get every athletes pumped for the Australian University Games.
